Orangutan Jungle School (6x60')

This three part series follows the real life, day-to-day antics of a group of rescued orangutans - ‘pupils’ at one of the world’s most extraordinary schools. Rapid deforestation threatens the very existence of this most human-like primate species, but under the guidance of a skilled and caring team of ‘’babysitters’, orphaned and once captive orangutans are taught vital survival skills before being released back into the wild. The stakes could not be higher as they embark on rehabilitation. Will they be able to overcome their traumatic pasts to ‘graduate’ from Jungle School? Saving Paradise Islands

SAVING PARADISE ISLANDS showcases grassroots conservation along Tanzania’s coast, where marine life faces threats from overfishing, climate change, and plastic pollution. The film follows three pioneering projects: on Maziwe Island, Kerstin Erler’s team rescues sea turtle nests from rising tides; on Chumbe Island, Sibylle Riedmiller runs a no-take marine park and offers free eco-trips to schoolchildren; and on Fanjove Island, Malcolm Ryen partners with local communities to protect reefs through eco-tourism and no-fishing zones.
